The backups are inaccessable, that is until Windows is reinstalled and the tape device software and drivers are reinstalled. TwoCell uses open/standard backup formats to ensure that your backup is accessable at all times.
• The backup data is kept near the original data. Many disasters endanger the onsite backup data. Fire, water and electrical can destroy your backups as well as your original data. TwoCell recommends redundant backups, both onsite and off.
• The backup is not monitored. Setting up a good backup is only the first step. Every backup will eventaully fail. Be it human error, a software or hardware failure it's gauranteed that one day your backup will fail. TwoCell monitors your backups daily, and you recieve an email report of the status.
• The backup strategy is flawed. The classic example is when a backup is made nightly that overwrites the previous nights. A virus or disk error mangles a file on the server. The backup software copies the file to the backup overwriting the good one. This backup is useless! A typical TwoCell server backup provides cascading granularity to make sure our backups are never useless. Every hour a backup is performed and backups are kept for 24 hours. Daily, weekly and monthly archives make sure you can always get the version of the file that you need.
